Welcome!
Hi, I’m Asra. I’m currently pursuing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston–Victoria. I’ve been married for over 20 years and am raising three children, including my oldest who has an intellectual disability. That part of my journey has profoundly shaped not only my perspective as a mother but also my work as a therapist.

Before stepping into the counseling field, I founded and led a nonprofit supporting families caring for loved ones with intellectual disabilities. That experience gave me a unique understanding of the emotional complexities people face—whether it’s caregiving stress, shifting identities, cultural expectations, or the challenges of long-term commitment.

My Approach
I believe that in a world full of roadblocks and dead ends, one of the greatest sources of resilience is a supportive, loving relationship. My style is grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and the belief that every couple has the capacity to reconnect and grow stronger together.
In our work, you’ll find a warm, nonjudgmental space where both partners are encouraged to share openly, feel understood, and practice new ways of communicating. My goal is to help couples heal, rebuild trust, and rediscover joy in their relationship. I want you to know that relationships aren’t just about survival—they can truly thrive.
More about me
-
A proud mom of three wonderful kids. My oldest has Down syndrome, which has been a big part of shaping who I am and how I see the world.
-
I am deeply passionate about advocating for and creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities. “Together we are better” is my go-to line, and it reflects both my values and my work. For the past eight years, I’ve been actively involved in nonprofit leadership, helping to build programs and communities that support families like mine.
-
In my free time, I love traveling with my family and exploring different cultures. I also enjoy interior decoration, spending time outdoors on nature walks and hikes, and getting lost in the world of fantasy fiction — especially the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings series.
