How Therapy for Teens in Katy, TX Works:
Free 15-Minute
Consult
Let’s begin with a free 15-minute consultation. This gives you an opportunity to chat with your therapist before you decide to schedule. During this call, they will have the chance to find out more about your teen and their needs and to see if they are the right fit.
Initial Parent
Session
Once we decide to move forward, the first session will be with the parents. During this meeting, the therapist will gather insight into what led you to seek therapy for your teen and discuss your goals for the process. They will explore family dynamics, significant life events, and your teen’s personal history to better understand your child from your perspective. This information helps create a well-rounded approach to your teen’s healing and growth. The therapist will also offer guidance on how you can best support your child throughout the process.
Individual Sessions with Your Teen
After the initial parent session, the therapist will begin working directly with your teen. The focus will be on building a trusting therapeutic relationship, helping them feel safe to express their thoughts and emotions. The therapist will use age-appropriate therapeutic techniques and interventions that resonate with your child, fostering self-expression and emotional regulation. Through this process, your teen will develop a deeper understanding of themselves and gain tools to manage the challenges life throws their way.
Family Sessions
Depending on your child’s needs, therapy may include a blend of individual and family sessions. Family sessions can help strengthen communication, address conflicts, and reinforce the progress made in individual therapy.
